Diagnostic Writing
In my opinion I think my strongest attributes as a writer are that I accept, listen, and make changes to what I've written based on feedback, fairly well organized, good word choice, and lastly I'm able to write just about anything. If I wanted to list everything I was good at, then the list would take quite a while to write; so that's the short handed version of it.
If I had to say what my biggest concerns about my own writing are grammar conventions, the phrasing of certain words, and staying attentive when I am writing anything. These, concerns are at a minimal because I have ways and techniques that I use to eliminate them. I guess you could say, that those are the things that I used to have a concern with. For now, I don't really see anything in my writing that I'm that concerned about. What I write gets across most of the time; and if the person grading it is competent than its served me quite well.
Unsurprisingly there are a few skills that I would like to improve on. That's not the reason why I decided to take Rhetoric, but it will be one of the benefits of having taken it, as opposed to not taking it. One thing that I would like to try is a different way of writing an essay that contains a thesis. The method would be to write the thesis, and put it in a paragraph form along with all the topic sentences for each paragraph. Then I'd read through it, and if it makes sense, I'd press enter after each sentence. If the sentences don't flow and doesn't have a logical path, then I'd rework them or take them out. After that, I'd add in the quotes and the analysis of said quotes; and that would pretty much finish the essay. One thing that I could work on to improve is something that I like to, improving the age of my sentences. "Improving the age of sentences" means rewording a select amount of sentences and rework them in such way that it sounds more well done, yet still carries the same meaning as before. That I feel like is the only that I really can improve on, besides grammar conventions.
